Random Updates - Feb 2026

 Now that, I am not getting time to write Dakshith's updates - thought of writing some random updates.

4th standard - He couldn't clear the IMO first round, but he could do the same in 5th standard.

4th standard - His section cut off in achievers section was not met.

He scored 45 out of 60 in the 5th standard level 1, but the level 2 exam was tough for him.

He is actively participating in a lot of skating events in Bangalore. Till now, he won atleast one medal for all the events. 

His cough is still there once a while so during those times, we wont be entertaining competitions.. since we need to spend a lot of time at the events. Events are happening grade wise and category wise and each one will have multiple rounds till final.

His UT3 was really bad as the marks started slipping below 40s for some subjects, but maths - he scored good.. Though we were expecting a bad PTM, since the class teacher happened to be his maths teacher - she was having top of the mind info only about that.. Then we had to tell about the other marks :)

He is playing Roblox during weekends - 1 hr screentime. 

He turned 11 a few days back and had a small friends party at home. We gifted a smart watch, a roblox t shirt, a Dakshith written cap, a keychain of Ronaldo etc. He was looking happy with the gifts :)

Spoke to his skating coach today and realized, 4 days a week we need to go for skating coaching and it's not near to our home as well. So it will be tough going forward. We may need to channelize his energy for some other sport - Looks like he wanted football.. I was thinking of badminton though.. since coaching options will be plenty and available everywhere..

IMO - 3rd Standard - Cleared Level 1

 Good news - 

Dakshith cleared the IMO - Maths Olympiad for 3rd standard - Level 1

He also cleared the level 1 of Logiqids Olympiad Level 1

3 Times Loo During Garudan

Missed updating the blog for a long time. Thought, it might be fun to read some of these in the future. So writing one now.

Recently (Dec 2023), we booked 4 tickets for the movie Garudan. It was a friday evening 7 PM show at Park Square. Due to some office busy schedule, Radhika decided not to come for the movie, as she was expecting some calls/pings. I told her that, it would be better to cancel as I am not confident in taking both the kids with me. She insisted to go and have that experience. 

We reached the theater and Dakshith started telling - he wants popcorn and pepsi. Baby joined and demanded the same. I thought - Let me give this, so that they will keep quiet and I can enjoy the movie. I bought them what they asked for and we entered the theater. I sat in the middle and both the kids on either side. Movie started and even before that, they started eating and drinking. 

Movie is a thriller genre and we need to watch closely to understand the hints and the twists. Suddenly Dakshith wanted to go to the loo. I told him to go alone, but he told, he doesnt know the path. So I decided to take him. Now I cannot make baby sit there alone. So I carried her and took Dakshith to the loo. Problem with the mens bathroom is there is no normal closet. As a result, we can't take Baby inside. So we followed these steps.

Dakshith will go first. Me and baby will stand out and wait. When Daskshith is out, I will go inside and ask Dakshith to take baby inside womens toilet. Overall, right from getting up from our seat in theater and getting back after these steps will take 15 minutes.

The best part - He did this 3 times during the movie. At the end of the 3rd time, when we reached back, we saw credits being displayed and the movie was over. I didnt understand head/tail of the movie. Had to call one of my friend to understand the story and what happened in climax.

Getting Matured - Part 2

Day - 14th June 2020.
Dakshith and Dhavika are playing on the city and I am sitting next to them. We bought a new magic slate for the baby and they were playing with that. Dhanvika is giving the shapes to Dakshith and he is arranging (Heart Symbol, Triangle, Round Symbol). Dhanvika is writing with the pencil and he is erasing it and both are happy playing.

While Dakshith was busy drawing something on the slate, baby gave the triangle piece to Dakshith and hit his eyes. It became slightly reddish and tears started coming out.

I just saw this and told - "Sorry Dakshith". He asked, why are you telling sorry, it was done by baby. Then he continued playing with her and wiping the tears which is coming out. I was surprised and asked him - Did you know that baby didn't do that intentionally?

Yea - She was giving that triangle to me and she didnt look this side. It was not intentional and by mistake it hit my eyes.

Wow!! This guy is just 5 years and 4 months. How can he get this level of maturity?

Getting Matured

Date - Feb 26, 2020.

Dakshith is 5 years and 20 days now. Today Radhika was feeding his sister with some rice and she was roaming around the house. When Dakshith was coming close to her, she spit the mouthful of rice on to him. It was all over him, his dress, his sandals, his body etc. He was in a good dress for his dance practice in the evening.

To all of our surprise, this is how he behaved -
He just asked with a smile - What are you doing baby?
Then he cleaned the rice on his body and his dress. Then he went to the bathroom, cleaned his sandals, put that sandal in the balcony for drying. Came back with a new sandal and starts playing with the kid again.

Wow!! from a 5 year old!!

She must be really lucky in having him as a brother :)

A Loooong Gaaaaap

So, I didn't update anything to this for such a long time after the 2016 November Yellagiri trip. It was majorly because of the fact that, I was busy with my studies (MBA from IIM-K) for the last 2 years. By April, I am done with that course and I got some free time again :)

In this period, Dakshith went to Eurokids Play Group for 3 months, he went to the nursery for a full year and he joined a major school (Vydehi School of Excellence) for his LKG. If we are continue staying at Whitefield, he will be continuing his studies over there.

So this post is about posting some of the photos/events that took place from November 2016 till Jan 2018 time frame.

We had a trip to Kerala to attend couple of marriages and we clubbed with our regular vacation. We went by car, so that he can be comfortable. We choose to stay at Salem (Hotel Windsor Castle) and they have some amazing breakfast spread as a complimentary buffet.

The next 3 photos are related to his Eurokids journey, including his first day to school, his uniform and some ethnic day dress. He loved going to this school and it was so easy for us to make him wake up early in the morning by telling that, he can go to school :)

Yelagiri - Thanksgiving Holidays 2016

We visited our favorite place 'Zeenat Taj Gardens' Yelagiri once again. This year also, we went during the time of Thanksgiving Holidays - November 25, 26. Dakshith had some fantastic time to play with sand, be with some birds/animals and lots of area to run around. The food was nice, the staff were good. Hopefully we will visit again.
